What are staff types?

Staff types are assigned to users to define what kind of roles and permissions they have in the software. Each staff type requires a different type of user license, which is what you pay for as part of your subscription.

The staff types are: Administrator, Office User, Kiosk User, Integrator, and Advisor.

When creating an organisation, you will automatically be set up as an Administrator.

Administrator

An Administrator user has the highest level of authority in Jobman. An Administrator has all permissions turned on at all times; and as new features are added to the software, these are enabled for Administrators automatically.

Administrators require an office license.

Office User

An Office User can have any/all permissions and features enabled for their account, depending on what level of access is assigned to them by their Administrator.

Administrators can set and update permissions for Office Users by navigating to Settings > Staff > Roles.

When a new feature is released for Jobman that requires one or more permissions to access, this will need to be enabled manually for each Office User (if applicable) by their Administrator.

Office Users require an office license.

Kiosk User

Kiosk Users have very limited access to the Jobman software, and are intended primarily for site and factory usage.

When a new feature is released for Jobman that requires one or more permissions to access, this will need to be enabled manually for each Kiosk User (if applicable) by their Administrator.

Kiosk Users require a kiosk license.

Integrator

An Integrator is a special license added to your subscription if you are using the services of a Jobman implementation partner or trainer. An Integrator is similar to an Administrator but does not have full access to your software.

Integrators require an integrator license.

Email help@jobman.com for more information.

Advisor

An Advisor is a special license added to your subscription as a paid extra. An Advisor, such as a bookkeeper or business consultant, is like an Office User but has read-only access to an organisation’s Jobman software. An Advisor’s permission levels are set by their Administrator.

Advisors require an advisor license.

Email help@jobman.com for more information.

Please note: You cannot invite a user to login to Jobman without allocating them a staff type. If you are importing staff from your accounting software, they will not import with a staff type, and their types will need to be set manually.
